Vern and Verniece Enciso’s New Fragrance Launch
Lifestyle bloggers Vern and Verniece Enciso paired up with celebrity mom Cat Arambulo for a collaboration to launch their new fragrance VVandCo. The launch event took place at Shangrila at the Fort and featured a Savory Naked Spread from Naked Patisserie for some of their esteemed guests to enjoy.
I sat down with Vern and Verniece to get the scoop on what inspired them to launch a fragrance line. Here what they had to say:
What inspired you to launch fragrances in the first place?
It all actually started with a childhood memory that we both have. Our fondest one is our dad kissing us goodbye every morning and he leaves this trail of scent that just lingered till we see him again later on at night. It was unlocked when we were in a department store abroad and we got a whisk of that scent that brought back those simple yet memorable scenes we had as kids. He’s always been our hero and the person we looked up to the most so reliving that memory was very dear to us. Then and there we knew that fragrance is the business we want to venture in, we want to help unlock old memories and even be the keeper of new ones.
Tell me about the collaboration with Cat Arambulo.
We wanted to commemorate [the special women in our lives] by making a fragrance that is dedicated to them. Moms have evolved, moms today choose to be an amazing parent to their kids but love themselves at the same time. They are our modern superheroes as they are doing the hardest job in the world. We wanted to chose a mom that embodies this philosophy, someone who can do both. For us, Cat Arambulo was the perfect choice. A no-brainer.
How would you describe you and your sister’s style?
My sister’s style and I are similar but different. It says so much about us as women, we may look alike but our personalities are very different. We’re both very feminine and classic, but I’m more structured and experimental while Verniece’s is more youthful and fresh.
Describe your fragrances.
We had two types of girls in mind when were were making our two scents… For Verniece, it’s very sweet and fresh. It has remnants of a girl who is very happy taking little and unsure steps to figure out what she wants in life. She’s taking her sweet time and she’s not taking life too seriously yet. It’s a fragrance one can wear to school, a girl who’s experiencing her first job, on dates with her first real love or even a trip with her girlfriends.
As for Vern, it’s a fragrance made for women who have gone through difficult times trying to figure out who she is and have come out of that stage in her life, more sure of who and what she wants to attain. I personally went through anxiety for the past two years and I know how trying it can be. Some may call it quarter life crisis given that I am in my mid 20s but just overcoming that phase of my life was very empowering. I wanted this perfume to be feminine but have that musky note because I wanted that part of the fragrance to remind girls that they were strong enough to get through just that. It’s a scent that a girl can wear everyday as she takes calculated steps towards a dream she’s sure she wants to pursue.
Cat’s perfume is fresh, like you just come out of the shower. It’s the scent made for everyday use and light enough to wear around kids. It has notes of floral and fruity and it ends with a musky note which makes it last till the next day.
Where do you see your brand in 5 years?
Our fragrances are just the beginning. We all shall wait and see 🙂
Who are some notable guests who attended your event?
We chose women who embody the mom we had in mind as part of our event. We had some of our favourite influencers like Nicole Hernandez, Kelly Misa, Sam Godinez- Valenciano, Yuki Tansengco-Higson, Maoui David, Vanna Garcia and Bianca Santiago. We also had people from the business industry like Ernie Sy, Bobby Yan, Grace Ang, Mons Romulo, Roxanne Farillas of Plains and Prints, Monique Jamlang, Celine Lim, Kai Lim, Marga Nograles, Michelle Tan and Jam Chan- Cua. We were so lucky because we were supported by the famous jewellery designer, Ann Ong so her well dressed guests were there too! Loved how the guest list was diverse and everyone came on time! That doesn’t happen often.
What do you liked about Naked Patisserie’s Naked Spread?
EVERYTHING! Aside from the perfumes, it was the centrepiece of our event. Our guests enjoyed the spread as much as they enjoyed learning about the scents. We loved the cake and we saw that the food was almost wiped out before the event ended! Loved how it was arranged, too! We didn’t need to decorate the place so much.
